World's Longest Cat

I have decided to post this in honor of AJ's "love" of cats (well, really it was because I couldn't stop laughing at the photo):

The new world record holder for cat length is Stewie who measures 48 ½-inches from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail. (taken from People.com)

Our cabbage sized baby: 10 weeks to go!

Our baby now weighs about 3 pounds and is the size of a cabbage... if this is true then why am I as big as THREE cabbages?

Ostrich for Dinner

We'd just been having a discussion on Saturday about the craziest thing we've ever eaten... for both of us it was tripe, the lining of a cows stomach.

I mentioned that I'd like to try ostrich at some point... so, at my 7am run to Market Basket on Sunday morning I found ostrich next to the bison and elk. We wouldn't recommend it unless you want something a little more grainy and fatty than tenderloin... all in all though, the taste was very similar to beef, and not so bad when it's paired with yummy mashed sweet potatoes and asparagus!

Inspiration...

Inspiration for Baby's nursery! Baby's room will be about half this size so we'll see what we can do, but we are going with a vintage sailboat motif with everything in navy, tan and white!

This photo was taken from Restoration Hardware.

Are you a Camel or a Deer?

Pablo asked us yesterday during the sermon: are you a camel or a deer?

Well, as Christians we aim to be like the deer needing and seeking after water daily (analogy for needing God daily), instead of like the camel, who drinks his fill, stores it up and then doesn't drink again for weeks. So often we take one long drink of God to recenter ourselves and then we go into a dry spell for a while and rely on ourselves. We weren't created to be camels, we were created to be deer, needing God DAILY like we need our water daily.

AJ and I are feeling like we are under the gun (Baby comes in 10 weeks!) and are more busy than ever but this is exactly the time when we need to NOT be relying on ourselves... We CAN'T do everything ourselves. If we are too busy to thirst after God, and we need to run on our "camel-like" reserves, then we are too busy. Period.

Pistachios + Arugula + Mozzarella = Amazing Pizza

This is a recipe from my friend Katie Arnold that I made last night! Because our crust was a little boring (we used naan and then grilled it) we'd do some editing like add some garlic cloves, BBQ chicken or maybe just some Italian spices.

Directions:
Put some olive oil on the pizza crust (after cooking it for a little bit), then add mozzarella, chopped pistachios, a chopped red onion (I like to do it long strips) and Parmesan cheese. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until it looks done. After it cools for a few minutes put arugula on top…lots of it.
Katie's thoughts on the pizza, in her own words: "I was skeptical of it but it is AMAZING. You wont be able to stop eating it. It will put you in food heaven."
