While I did Drew Duty my fabulous husband removed the wall... he loves anything to do with demolition:
AJ took down the existing beams and put up a stronger support beam that is actually an exterior beam. We wanted something thick and substantial because this is a supporting wall.
AJ is (obviously) still working on this... we need to figure out how we want to put up the railing and the spindles.
And I'm just putting this next photo in because I loved how the light was coming in while I was taking these photos... and because this is the last photo you'll see of us microwave-less. Well, at least, good-looking microwave-less! I'm ordering us one today!
I LOVE all the light! And your wall-removal has given me an idea for our very own little cape! :)
ReplyDeleteI think I am going to try wainscoting in our master bath after seeing how beautiful yours turned out! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteAh Jen! It looks great!! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely! Your photos make it look so easy. (i'm sure it wasn't quite as easy as it looks!)
ReplyDeleteNo photos of the actual demolition? Too bad! I'm eager to see the next photos - of what you decided on, and of the microwave! :)
ReplyDeleteAnna, what did you decide to do in your cape?
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see photos, Stephanie!
Amy and Jade, thanks for the encouragement... And Jenna... There was no real demolition because AJ sliced the drywall out with a knife so he could save that and the breadboard that was on the other side!
