burlapping it

The CSI Project challenged people to come up with a craft using burlap... About a year ago I took a bench that had a floral cover on it and decided I wanted something more neutral... I'd found an burlap sack on clearance at Michael's and just cut it to fit the bench and then did some tucking and pinning on the underside of the bench.

With lavender from our garden...

The view from our hallway of our tiny bathroom.

I had some extra burlap left so I snipped a little off the underside of the bench, layered the burlap and created this little frame with a starfish in it...

That starfish is actually what this handsome man wore on his boutonniere at our wedding! This is a photo of AJ when I was walking down the aisle...

  4. Great bench. The burlap looks so good. And I love that you framed the starfish from the boutonniere. What a great way to preserve a memory.
