dump desk

One of the reasons that I love AJ is that he isn't afraid to find things at the dump / side of the road and refinish them... we are a good pair in that way... you can imagine my DELIGHT when he came home from the dump a couple of weekends with this beauty:

I think the green antiqued look is fabulous but I'm leaning towards painting it a dark gray, I can just picture it now with a small vase of pink peonies on it (I'm a sucker for the pink and gray color combo).

I initially wanted it as a small console table behind our couch and then decided it would be a lot more functional as a little computer desk in one of the zones in our living room.

I was joking with AJ that this is our free corner... free desk, free chair (from people used to garden for) and a free lamp from Staples (I love their rewards points). Do you see that fabulous plant in the photo above? That's a pomegranate bush, we love it but so far the pomegranates are as big as my pinkie nail (and I might even be exaggerating a little bit).

Have you found anything for free lately that works perfectly in your house?
