the 25k runner and his cheering squad

AJ is a last minute runner... he never likes to sign up for a race until the last possible moment to do so, so this morning I was taking apart a Pyrex box to make signs to cheer him on. He told me his goal was to run 6:15 miles, keep in mind, friends, that this is for a 15 mile race. Let's just be honest, he's out of control.

Drew and I were his cheering squad, well, actually I was and Drew was the crying squad, because every time people would clap or cheer loudly it would scare Drew and make him burst out crying. I told him he'd better get used to it because if he's anything like his Dad he'll be getting cheered for all the time. If he's anything like his mom, people will be cheering because he finally finished the race, not because of any noble time. :)

Oh, and I forgot to mention that AJ got 5th place. Yep, that's my hubby!
There you have it. Our incredible wild Labor Day celebration.
