mmmmm....

I was having friends over yesterday and wanted to make a little something. I am in love with All Recipes.com and always search for the recipes with the best rating. I came across this one and I'm in love. It was sooo easy and I got rave reviews from both Nancy and Jenna (my friends), my hubby and Drew (he thought it was so good he licked it off the counter...). As I was baking them I was thinking about that Friends episode where Phoebe got a secret recipe from her grandmother for Nestle Toll House cookies... :)

Best Big, Fat Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1 egg yolk

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

1.Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.

2.Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.

3.In a medium bowl, cream together the melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar until well blended. Beat in the vanilla, egg, and egg yolk until light and creamy. Mix in the sifted ingredients until just blended. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand using a wooden spoon. Drop cookie dough 1/4 cup at a time onto the prepared cookie sheets. Cookies should be about 3 inches apart.

4.Bake for 15 to 17 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are lightly toasted. Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

  1. a) I love that Friends episode! (and that you referenced it)
    b) thanks for sharing the recipe. I thought you said (and I thought I saw?) coconut was in it, too, but I don't see it in the ingredient list. Did you just add some for kicks?

  2. That Friends episode is hysterical. I added coconut even though the recipe didn't call for it because I think it just makes almost everything taste better... I probably did about 3/4 to a cup but I just eyeballed it and put in more if it looked like it needed it after mixing it all together.
