january table

I think this January table would be perfect for New Year's Eve or New Year's Day. I decided to work with an entirely silver and white theme for a sophisticated take on winter. For our Christmas table I plan to use birch and blues which will totally fit the winter theme as well, but I'll show you that once it gets a little closer to Christmas...

Christmas Tree Shop was having a good sale on chargers ($1 each) so I picked up six in silver for this arrangement.

I am that crazy person who decided to make white cupcakes just for a blog post... and then the lucky people around me profited from my craziness... For anyone who is curious, I only make cake from boxed cake mixes, I think they taste better, and I make buttercream frosting from the recipe right off the back of Market Basket's confectioner sugar... nothing like a simple recipe filled with trans fats.

Remember these silver balls from the December table? I decided to use them again to go with the winter white theme and stacked them in tall vases I had in the basement (our basement is like Mary Poppins bag... you never know what you'll find).

Pardon my candlesticks... they are having trouble standing straight up no matter how many times I fix them. :) My Mom and Dad gave me the candlestick holder for my birthday about four years ago, it's from IKEA. I used some fake snow that I had from a project a couple of Christmas' ago and sprinkled it around the base of the candles. Kim asked me if it was coconut... I suppose you could do that too. :)

Have an amazing weekend... next week I'll blog about a couple of projects we are working on today around the house while my mom watches Drew and then I'll show you a February / Valentine's Day table I'm brainstorming...

  1. oooh, I love the silver and white, Jen!

Have you tried stuffing a little tin foil in the candle holders to keep them straight? My mom used to do that with our Christmas candelabra :)
