new chairs

When this arrived yesterday I went a little crazy. In fact, I'm pretty sure the UPS man thought I was insane when I told him this was like Christmas to me. Remember what I said I ordered from Overstock.com?

You guessed it... my replacement for these hideous chairs. All right, hideously slipcovered chairs. I'll take the entire blame for how bad these chairs look.

I wanted something that had a simple silouette like what we currently had but was maybe a smidge dressier. And the fact that the fabric was perfectly textured and a great color was also what made me hit the "add to cart" button.

Here is the fabric... it'll hide some dirty finger prints that I'm pretty sure are inevitable.

This morning Drew and I went on a walk in the woods and picked up a bunch more greens for our mantle and for the free urn (did I blog about this? you guessed it... another side of the road find).

This next idea was one that I got at Swank, this amazing shop in Hamilton, NY (where AJ grew up). They had these great cloches filled with crumpled book pages and it looked amazing. I know it's a little bizarre but I love it. I found a sci fi book at Savers and kept ripping out pages and crumpling them while Drew pulled everything out of our cabinets next to me on the kitchen floor. He was also in the destruction mood. :)

Isn't this little guy the cutest thing ever? I could eat him up. We did an impromptu photo shoot on the ugly chairs.

  1. Jen, those chairs are fabulous! And I am so impressed by all of your greens. I have just about given up on plants as Behr constantly tries to eat them. How do you keep Drew away? Or is it a non-issue?
