Here are the beautiful before photos:
Here are the results after three coats of Kilz primer, three coats of Behr's Ultra Pure White (semi-gloss) and two coats of water based polyurethane. Each coat took about an hour and I let the whole table dry after the polyurethane all weekend without setting anything on it... let's just say it was a long process.... but I think it's worth it.
I'm going to sell the piece... even though I want to keep it now. :) Anyone in the market for a pedestal table that seats eight comfortably and 10 if you have skinny chairs? The dimensions are 45" across by 83" (with both leaves in) OR 58" across with no leaves. I'm asking $350.

I have a 40 year old table in need of this type of transformation. I think I will tackle it this summer. Gosh 3 coats of everything almost and I actually I have to strip mine since it was painted 10 years ago and it is peeling now.
