darker legs and sepia

If my life today (I'm writing this Wednesday night) was in Facebook status updates it would have been:

9am: I look shockingly like a character from Dynasty because of my big hair... with less makeup and bigger dark circles.

10am: Phone keeps dying mid texts and calls. Could have something to do with a wild child throwing it in the toilet on Christmas Day.

1:15pm: Just left lunch at Liberty Tree mall with Drew. If they ever let us come back after needing a dumpster to pick up everything he threw on the floor it would be a miracle. Probably also wasn't good when Drew ate the crayon.

5pm: Out running. Wind chill is an un-Godly number. Need head examined.

6:15pm: Eating homemade mushroom pizza. Could eat whole pizza while AJ is at Deacons meeting. Sorry, AJ, no lunch for you tomorrow. That wouldn't go over well with AJ or my stomach.

7:20pm: Drew didn't fall asleep in my arms while giving him his bottle. If I make it to 31 it'll be a miracle because I'm pretty sure I sense stress induced death from chasing around a wild child all day coming... he is ALL OVER THE PLACE. (and yes, Mom, I'm okay, just exhausted. :))

8:41pm: Blogging and simultaneously on Pinterest. Wish I could go to sleep but I look forward to doing this all day... :)

Moving on to something possibly more interesting. If you consider staining chair legs interesting.

I showed off this mini transformation a bit in the Our Home page but we'll get into the nitty gritty details. Remember when our wall gallery and chairs looked like this last week? Light legs and varying colored frames:

I brilliantly (really, it was my only good idea of the day) stuck the chair legs into a pizza box to get them to stand upright for painting:

A day later it looked like this... only I placed this end table in the middle and now it's making me batty with it's light stain. Sort of how our dining room table made me a little nuts before it's makeover.

I sent some photos to the print shop at Gordon College in sepia (even though the ones I turned sepia in Word (instead of Picasa) look like they are black and white, lesson learned, JTM) so that they would all blend smoothly. For nine photos it cost me $2.20 to have them print it on white cardstock. I love it because at that price I can interchange them when ever! Do you know CVS was going to charge me $6.99 for ONE 8x10?

Now I can't wait to makeover that end table... even if I do sell it, which is what my intention is, at least it'll look good until I do. :)

Last but not least... guess what Makeover Mondays project is going to be next week? I'll give you a hint... it'll transform this space at the other end of the living room:

  3. Love your faux FB statuses. I always think of that during the day, clever little things I could post...but I never end up getting to it...wonder why!? There definitely is the sense that you need to share those little things with someone, especially when your little one is driving you a little insane. We LOVE them, of course!! And know that some day in the near future we'll be missing these crazy days.
    Hope today is better, Jen.
    God Bless! Christine M
