Spring Mantle 2012

Notice our winter mantle... I don't love the proportions of it but ignore that for now. Aside from what you see changing on the mantle what else do you notice that is different in the second photograph?

Did you notice what I did today while I tried to get Drew to nap (majorly unsuccessfully, might I add)? I did something I've been needing to do for probably a year. And I'm not joking on that timeline. I finally went to True Value and picked up the tiniest little can of Benjamin Moore's Vanilla Ice-Cream (best paint color name ever... unless one was called Chocolate Peanut Butter... and then that would take the cake (err, ice-cream?)) and painted the cords from our TV! It took hardly any time and it looks way better... Why didn't I do that months ago?

AJ's co-worker Cathy got me the cutest little birdcage at Salvation Army. I'm going to spray paint it but haven't gotten there yet...

My bird from Swank, a fabulous store in Hamilton, NY, where AJ grew up with some moss I got for 50% off at Michael's and some eggs that I scored with a gift card to Pottery Barn.

I just love paperwhites. They are so low maintenance and pretty.
