Ever since we moved in our driveway has been in desperate need of a makeover. There were cracks and sinking holes. And a big oil stain from that Volvo S60 we owned for exactly one year (this car was a lemon... the worst kind). We have both loved the gravel driveways with cobblestones at the end that we see around Manchester and also really liked that we would be the only ones in our neighborhood with one (ie: it's not overdone around town). So, for about $100 we have a driveway makeover.... but, part two of the makeover will come after we save up some cash for our cobblestones (it'll be about $400 for them if we want to do four rows over the 17 feet at the end of the driveway).
Before, with the icky pavement. And our trash and recycling. :)
After, taken on this very rainy morning... I was out in my rain boots getting this shot. And risky frizzy hair. :)
Let's zoom in so you can see the pea gravel up close:
Here are some of my fave shots, with it leading into our patio, also done with the pea gravel:
So far we love it... it feels so beachy and cottage-y and for hardly any money. I love how it just flows into the patio... instead of the patio stones just flowing onto our pavement.
To do list for the driveway:
Cobblestones at the end
Build a skinny planter to divide the driveway from the sidewalk.
Plant privacy bushes or beach grass in planter.
What did YOU do around home this weekend?
Any ideas for future posts?
