For the most part Drew's room is pretty cute... but then sometimes his shelf and pegs get a little out of control. Like how it looked earlier yesterday.... Sometimes I wish I could do a blog post on what my house looked like pre and post cleaning because that is all I've done that day... well, today, friends, that's pretty much what I'm doing.
I moved a couple of Drew's big toys into his closet (he can open the door himself and get it if he wants it). I cleaned out and reorganized the basket on the right so that the overflowing books in the middle basket can be split into two baskets.
I moved the jackets to hooks on the back of the door and the cute little outfit to Drew's changing table (see last photo in the post).
My next step was to hang up some metal containers that I spray painted navy.
I used the rope that I covered his trash with (you can see that at the bottom left of the photo above).
My goal is to fill them with practical items. The first one will have some mini trash bags. One will have Drew's summer PJs and the other will have I don't know what... :)
These metal containers were used at my baby shower that my sister and mom threw for AJ and me. It's fun to have some of that history in his room.
I just wanted to show you this view, even though Drew's mobile isn't up (he pulled it down), because I loved how it looked after doing some cleaning.
Don't you just wish that people would clap you on the back and say "amazing! you are incredible!" whenever you do a big cleaning job? Yeah, I do too. :)
Happy Wednesday! We are off to visit my grandfather today so he can see Drew. What are you up to?
I wish people would applaud me whenever I empty the dishwasher or vacuum! Glad to hear I'm not alone! :)
ReplyDeleteI wish someone would buy our cottage so that I didn't have to keep a home and a cottage clean at the same time, lol! Don't mind me, I just finished doing approx. 10 huge loads of laundry, since we took down every. single. curtain, and stripped each bed in the cottage. And, it just so happened to be laundry day at our home at the same time. Oh, what fun!!
ReplyDeleteSaw this on fb....
ReplyDeleteCleaning with children in the house is like brushing your teeth while eating Oreos.
I have four kids. I clean what feels like all day, every day and sometimes, you really can't tell *sigh*
Drew's room is gorgeous.
I love stealing ideas to tuck away in my brain from your little boy's room as my little boy's room is decorated with Pottery Barns "Baby Boats" but the walls are still kinda blank. I'm definitely going to use the shelf and rope basket idea... and I love the hanging pails with the rope ties. Very cute - thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love what you did and yes, I think we all want words of acclamation for the work we do! Me? I am staying cool indoors and catching up on all my bloggy friends like you! Hugs,
