We started with this fabric curtain from IKEA and decided to use the blue shade to paint the dresser. I went to Ace Hardware because they have the best paint and primer mix that I've used, it's their Clark and Kensington paint (I even like it better than Benjamin Moore).
Now for a "before" photo... rough, right?
Here is the cheery "after" in a gender neutral blue / green. Don't you just love the color?
I chose Flat Non-Glossy paint because I knew the dresser was a little rough after the stripping and I wasn't sure what I could sand off. The paint almost looks chalky, yes, like a blackboard (in a gorgeous blue / green).
I decided to take some of your suggestions and used vintage objects in my staging. This was an old frame AJ and I found in his grandfather's barn in the trash pile and the flowers were from church today, they were leftover from a wedding.
I decided to bring in another vintage object, the box we keep Drew's diapers and wipes in! I figured I better add some baby element since it's going in a nursery, right?
I told you I was going to show you the new buffet that I've painted in my kitchen... although there was a glitch in the paint color and it didn't turn out exactly as I hoped (aka: I was almost crying at my wasted time and money). :( It's far more of a neutral now (after fixing a very wrong color) instead of the statement piece I was hoping for. I'll show it off later this week.
