Some of AJ's family are going to be in town this weekend.... it'll be so great with all of them here. Matt, Allison and Patrick are flying in from Iowa and April, Kerry and Meredith are driving up from New York.
We are celebrating Matt's birthday tonight with a chocolate raspberry torte cake (yum) and have family pictures tomorrow with the fabulous Morgan Roy. Just for kicks I included one of my favorite recent photographs of hers that she took for some friends of ours. Isn't it amazing?

So, what else do I have to tell you? Nothing really. My day consisted of stripping beds, doing puzzles with Drew, laundry, cleaning the bathroom, eating some French Toast which Drew tried to snag some of, and then going to a showing for one of my real estate clients.
Drew is sleeping (couldn't I join him?!?!) and I am about to remake the bed and hang the shower curtain back up. Okay, tip for you, from Donna Thorburn (my mother, who is a complete lucky duck and is in Paris with my dad right now): buy a fabric shower curtain liner instead of plastic... you can just throw it into the washer with bleach. It's fab, trust me. I think I paid $6 at Home Goods or Marshalls.
Signing off to go do chores. Have a fabulous weekend!

that photo looks straight out of a fairy tale! stunning! happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat was my thought, too, Cassie! You have a great weekend as well-
ReplyDeleteJen
i know it!! i just recently figured out the fabric shower curtain liner thing myself- duh! why have i been buying the plastic ones over and over all these years?!
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you, I could just give you a big ol' hug! About the shower curtain thing, I mean, lol! Never even thought of that! Why, oh why, did I never think of that! Guess what my next liner will be?!
ReplyDeleteI'm giving everyone I know a fabric shower curtain! They are the best! Mine are 10 years old and I throw them in with some bleach and they keep coming back perfect! Makes the shower more cozy sans plastic!
ReplyDeleteLove chocolate and raspberry. Can't wait for that recipe! Have a great weekend with your family.
Hey Jen, the blog is looking awesome! I went over and voted for you, good luck :)
ReplyDeletewow! who knew so many people liked or didn't know about fabric shower curtain liners! and "anonymous", you are right, it totally makes it more cozy... and plus it's nice not to have plastic sticking to you. :)
ReplyDeleteand, wish i could tell you i was the brain child (or should i say, julia child) behind the chocolate and raspberry cake, but it was made by this amazing bakery in the next town.
Hi Jen, it would be awesome if you could do a post about what you are doing in real estate. I remember when you took the exam, but we haven't heard too much about it since then and I'm curious how its going. B
ReplyDeleteHi, Jen. There's another reason to use fabric shower curtains besides the fact that they're easier to keep clean - the plastic ones can give off harmful compounds. To keep the fabric liners clean, throw an old towel or two into the wash with it and some bleach. Love keeping up with ya'll on your blog. (And yes, I have voted for the blog as often as I can!)
