Monogrammed Pumpkin

Have you seen those monogrammed pumpkins on Pinterest? I fell in love with them and decided to make my own this year. Some of the tutorials I read seemed a bit complicated so I decided to use the same steps that I used when I made Drew's growth chart ruler, basically you just print out the size letter you want, trace it with a pen to give you the indent on the pumpkin and then trace the indent lines with a Sharpie. Easy peasy.

This is what you come up with... on a lopsided pumpkin. :)

You know where I always get my pumpkins for the best price? The grocery store (that's Market Basket, for you Mass residents). This big pumpkin was $4.28.

The mum was the same deal, $3.99 at Market Basket. I took it out of the tacky terra cotta colored plastic pot and put it into a galvanized bucket we had lying around.

This zoomed out photo is to give you a good idea of what my next project is...
Making the boxwood planters and the window boxes more inviting and fall-ish. I'm just waiting on finding the perfect pumpkins...

Off to make corn chowder to for dinner while AJ is out running around with Drew... I just love the moments when the house is quiet and I can zone out. Especially after days with biting, hitting, whining and trying to eat the drain out of the sink. :) And during those moments do you know what I'm dreaming of? Sitting on the couch with AJ after Drew goes to bed and watching the Friends rerun channel that I discovered the other night. Yep, pathetic. :)

  1. No judgement with the Friends rerun channel...even people who don't have 1.5 year olds need that sometimes... ;)

  2. I have discovered that they put Friends reruns on here in Australia and I think they are keeping me sane. Love your fall ideas and it makes me miss everything that goes with it. :) Laura

  3. It's also fun to modpodge your initial on those (fake ones better!) or do three that spell out "BOO"! White fake pumpkins with pretty paper look really cool!

  4. Oooo - this is very easy peasy - I love it and must do it soon! Tho I'm kinda in denial that it's fall right now. Can't wait to see what you do with the boxwoods and flower boxes - I need some inspiration! Is it easy to attach the window boxes? I think I want some. :)
