Wisteria Trellis

What do you think about the new header? I love how it makes the photos pop better than the other one, and of course, I'm really partial to the last photo on the right... :)

For Father's Day I gave AJ a purple wisteria plant, he's the gardener in the family, and we planned on having it climb a trellis that AJ set off from the house so the wisteria wouldn't attach to the clapboards.

AJ estimates the entire trellis cost about $25, which was far better than the average $60-$75 trellis we were finding online.

1 inch x 1 inch boards make up the vertical pieces and strapping boards (this is what you screw sheet rock into on the ceiling) are the horizontal boards.

We currently have a Climbing Hydrangea attached to the trellis but will move it when our Wisteria arrives (Fed Ex dropped it off at the wrong location in Manchester and so I just talked to the company and they are sending a new one).

AJ mounted it away from the house to keep the vines from attacking the clapboard and effectively ruining the boards.

Making it was simple... he just placed the boards in a grid and screwed them into each other after we decided we liked the look of it after playing around with spacing.

Off to snuggle under my blanket on the couch with AJ, read my new Pottery Barn catalog (for the second time) and Country Living mag. And go to bed early.... mmmm that sounds so good right now.
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far!
