Spring Mantle 2013

I've been putting the finishing touches on our spring mantle. I'd love it all the more if we didn't have cables but that requires some drilling and installing of outlets so just imagine they aren't there... :)

The moss was from the large bag I bought for the moss bowl and for the moss monogram wreath... that moss was sort of like the loaves and the fishes in the Bible story... it just kept multiplying and I kept having enough for my projects.

Have you done any spring decorating yet?

  1. Actually, I normally don't do much seasonal decorating, except for Christmas, and I took that down a notch or two last Christmas. I'm still in the middle of decluttering, and I was getting our daughter involved in ti this afternoon, whoo! hoo!

  2. To add, your Spring mantel looks beautiful! So fresh, and it gives me hope that we might actually see Spring again, lol!

  3. hm.my comment vanished! I guess you're REALLY ready for spring, huh? I bet the snow storm this weekend doesn't excite you... I'd like a close up of the Migonis Family board. Did you make it? (And, did you already do a post on it?)

  4. Lovely mantle, balanced but not matchy matchy. A temporary fix for the cords (at least they are white) would be to use Command clips for cords to have them run straight up and down, cut across behind your sign (also very cool) and run down the side of your fireplace and then to the plug. You're lucky to have a DH that does stuff around the house and does it well. Mine doesn't want to so I am always surfing the net for Plan B, Plan C and on and on.

  7. So cheery!! Are the daffodils real or silk flowers? If fake, they look so real! Where did you get such good fakes? Thanks!

    1. Hi Anne!
They are real ones from our grocery store... they were having a special of $1.50 per bunch!

  8. Thank you, Jen! I'm assuming you put water in the vase, although I didn't see it. I just bought a bag of moss at Hobby Lobby in an attempt to make a spring arrangement like yours but am not sure if it's "real" moss or not? I'm assuming yours has real moss and you just wet the moss a bit and that's how the daffodils keep from dying? I'm having a girl in 2 wks (my first) so it's been so fun to follow your story. Ours is due on March 24, but, like you, I'm thinking ours might be an Easter baby. I'm seriously "nesting" here at home (on a very bleak day in Iowa) and wanting the home to be as Spring-y and cheery as possible for her arrival! Thank you for your inspiration!
