I’m sitting in our living room cuddled under my favorite throw with the Christmas tree lights on behind me. I always miss these twinkling lights come the beginning of January. The living room never seems as cozy as it does during this month.
If you are new here this month you’ll be introduced to my Twelve Days of Christmas series. I’ll share a Christmas project, recipe or tradition on each of these days. On Thursday I’ll be sharing a Christmas project for under $30 and on Friday one of my favorite Christmas traditions but to kick off my Third Annual Twelve Days of Christmas series I’ve pulled together four of my favorite Christmas projects or recipes that I’ve featured on the blog before so they are in one place and then I’ve joined together with 24 other bloggers who are doing the same.
I’m still working on finishing the rest of these birch chair back wreaths. These are one of my favorite Christmas projects especially because they cost me $1 to make. Yep. I was breaking the bank. I’m planning on having them on each of our chairs in the kitchen this month.
If you’ve read the blog in the past few weeks you may have seen this new addition to our house. This is my knock off Pottery Barn advent calendar that cost us less than $30. For today’s little gift I put a Bible verse and an ornament for the little Charlie Brown tree we have in Drew’s room.
For the past four years I’ve been writing a memorable event or events from that year onto the stump. Last year I displayed them in this pallet box with some live mini trees from Trader Joe’s. Come back on Friday for how I’m displaying our stumps this year (that sounds so bizarre as I write that).
This recipe for Chocolate Crinkles is one of my all-time favorites. My grandmother used to make these all the time… especially when she knew I was coming over her house. They are moist and delicious and very different from a traditional favorite like a Chocolate Chip Cookie.
I’ll be back on Thursday with a project for Christmas that you can do for under $30. In the meantime you can check out last year’s Christmas Tour HERE. The house is 70% done for this year… I can’t wait to show you what I’ve got in store. I partnered with my friends to give you oh… 96 more fabulous decor, DIY or recipe ideas to use during this Christmas month. I can’t wait to check these out!
LOVE it all especially the advent calendar! Well done. Great to be on this creative tour de force with you!
Love all those ideas, Jen! Especially the stumps… even if it sounds weird. 😉 Thanks for sharing!
xoxo
