Somehow $30 Thursday with Shayna from The Wood Grain Cottage and April from House by Hoff, has snuck up on me. Everyday after AJ comes home from work I’ve been jetting off to the flip for a few hours… which means there is very little time to do fun DIY projects. As I was sitting on the porch during nap time the other day I was just struck by how fortunate we are to have this porch… it is definitely one of the best things we’ve done for our home.
I was at Market Basket, the grocery store we regularly go to and found these amazing Kimberly Ferns for $12.99 apiece. They reminded me so much of ones I found on Pinterest paired with hydrangeas that I loved so I snatched them up. I’ve found great deals on ferns at Trader Joe’s as well… we usually find our best deals at the grocery store for bushes or ferns, they are regularly half the price of the nursery we go to. Adding something like our doormat gives a very classic and beachy vibe to the house without being over the top with sea shells and nautical symbols. THIS ONE from Amazon is the exact design of the one we have and it comes in at $28.
The OLIVE BRANCH WREATH is still on our door… This wreath only cost me about $20 and it’ll work for almost any season. I’m thinking about making a similar one for the flip because I love it so much… 🙂
You’ve seen this before with all of our other front porch posts, but if you need a little side table, but don’t have the cash to shell out for those garden stools that I’m in love with or something you have on your wish list, then see if you can find a tree stump that has an even cut on the top. It’s free and practical.
Last July my $30 Thursday focused on THE SHUTTERS WE MADE for about $20 apiece. The simple shaker design adds a lot to the house… and if you are not ultra handy they are not a complicated to build at all.
Don’t you just love it when the trees start getting their buds? It always make our yard so much more cheery.
Now is your chance to check out what my co-hosts did this month:
April added this cute trunk to her master bedroom:
Shayna is offering tutorials for how to make scrap wood letters. You know I love a good monogram.
