Do you decorate for fall? Do you perfectly place pumpkins all over your house and spend hours decorating for it? I don’t. The kids and I collected some acorns and I put a couple pumpkins around, I’m guessing that’s the way many of you are as well. I always look at my seasonal tours more as a great way to see the progress on our home and get to do a little bit of special decorating. Yesterday I shared the outside of our home, which is where I focus most of my efforts every fall, so today let’s start where we left off yesterday.
Come on in!
Master Bedroom
The only thing that has changed in the master bedroom since the last post was that I added two faux pumpkins to the little side table and snipped a few more hydrangeas from our yard. I still have to lengthen the curtains, cover the bed with fabric and hang up our birch bark artwork.
We have this gorgeous, and somewhat wild, hydrangea bush on the side of our front yard that I’ve been taking new flowers from constantly. I love how they look as their color has partially changed.
Office
I’ve already switched up my fall display in the office because I didn’t like all the orange on the mantle, even though it was one of my favorite photographs. The current photograph was taken when Drew was about a year old, it formerly hung on the wall in our kitchen in our previous home. The mantle in the office has some branches from outside, a faux pumpkin and acorn from Hobby Lobby and this great cloche from Swank.
Dining Room
The dining room is where I’ve done the majority of my fall sprucing up. The Mariposa tray on our table holds hydrangeas from our yard, a faux pumpkin from Hobby Lobby and acorns I collected with the kids one night when they were making me insane and I needed them out of the house. 🙂
A white pumpkin tops another bowl filled with more acorns in my Mariposa bowls (can you sense a theme of things I like to collect? Think Mariposa and white serving pieces. :)) I love using the birch bark surrounds for fall and winter that I bought for a work event about six years ago from Pottery Barn. I’ve set up the buffet with my soup turreen because we have soup about once a week during the colder months and my mug stand (AJ loves coffee and I’ve always been a hot chocolate girl).
I love this gorgeous sign from 25:40 Love… it’s such a great reminder no matter what season it is.
I’m so excited to show you the new art I got for above our fireplace, the colors in it are setting the tone for the entire room makeover.
Living Room
I’m in the middle of painting the living room right now. Look closely and you’ll still see pink that I need to cut in with the gray. The room didn’t turn out as dark as I would have liked but the way I look at it is that it’s a vast improvement over the pink. I’ll give you more details once I get the room done in the next couple of days.
I’m itching to cover the window seats, hang some curtains and get the rest of the room painted!
You’ll notice my wild looking hydrangeas making their appearance again with some white acorn squash I grabbed from the grocery store.
Is it weird I’m going to eat my centerpiece for dinner tonight? 🙂
I adore the built-ins. I moved all the white dishes in here because I loved how they really stood out from the Hale Navy. We only use them when having large crowds over. In the next week or two I hope to show you what I’m doing with the dining room shelves where these previously sat.
The next tour I’ll be sharing with you will be our Christmas tour which will be right before our Christmas party… the day filled with catering, equipment rentals (high top table anyone?) and endless cleaning.
…
I’m part of this tour with some fabulous ladies who have decorated more of their homes than I have. 🙂 You have got to check out this fabulous tour that Rachel from Maison de Pax put together.

Love the ironstone against that navy backdrop, and that rug is delicious. The hydrangea are lovely too.
Very pretty home
