In December AJ took Drew and Elle to see his parents and I stayed home with the twins (they are in school but the older two are being homeschooled this year so they can do that from anywhere, so while they were gone I gave myself a bunch a house projects I wanted to finish up before the year ended (about a 1/4 of them got done). It felt SO GOOD to crank out some work on the house with less people to look after. My biggest project was painting the kids bath (it looked pretty rough) and taking off the awful glass shower door. We hired our neighbor’s son, a college student, to add crown and baseboards to the kids bath and it looks so much more finished even though I don’t have any art or a runner in there yet (I’m planning on getting this one when it comes back in stock

We hired some great guys to come and replace the very rotted window in the master bedroom and we are thrilled with the look after. It’s much more of a classic design that matches the original part of the house (all of the additions had more modern window choices so we plan to replace them over time). Our neighbor’s son also added six-panel doors to our closets in the master instead of the flat doors that were there before. Our goal has been to get all the doors in the house to coordinate.
Just last night I started priming the yellow walls… I am beyond excited for something new and fresh. I don’t at all have my mind made up… Dark? Light?
My goals for January are:
- Prime and hopefully paint the master bedroom.
- Hang art in the kids bath.
- Paint and putty the new kitchen built in (can’t wait to share with you! It was just finished yesterday.)
It all looks GREAT.
(But I have to tell you I am MOST impressed by your neighbor’s college age son!!)
I love your kid’s bathroom floor! Here’s hoping you get more time for projects – I love following along!
Looking great! The shower curtain looks phenomenal- it wouldn’t be 84” would it? If so, source please!
